Psychosocial assessment and management related issues among Liver transplant recipients

Background and aimLiver transplants cases have been rising becoming the choice of treatment for many patients with end stage liver diseases. With an increasing number qualified centers facilities, effectiveness observed to increase over years. But success quality life post transplant has be influenced due psychiatric comorbidities.MethodWe searched literature using terms ‘Psychosocial factors’, ‘liver transplant’, ‘psychiatric disorders’, ‘treatment outcomes’ related terms, ‘AUD/SUD’ in three databases: PubMed, Embase, Scopus. Articles published English that provided original data analyses were included while commentaries review articles excluded. . This article focuses on association between various disorders/SUDs/AUD outcomes which indicated need its role improved overall enhanced life.ResultsMajority studies a negative disorder, AUD SUD transplant. A few found supporting multidisciplinary approach handling more effective outcome.ConclusionThe current evidence suggests developing integrated assessment management psychosocial issues recipients.
